Wrong perishable_token is received

Reported by Chris | February 18th, 2011 @ 02:07 PM

I'm developing an app in Ruby 2.3.11 on Ubuntu 10.10. I followed the instructions from the manual for implementing password_reset functionality and have integrated everything exactly the same as described in the manual.

The manual: https://github.com/rejeep/authlogic-password-reset-tutorial

The problem is that the token is correct until the moment it is sent by email. But a wrong token is delivered by email. And I can't figure out where the problem is or where the token is exchanged with a wrong one.

The token is correct in the database. The token is correct in the "raise user.perishable_tocken.inspect" statement. The development.log does not show that the token is changed but still I receive another token in the email.

Can you people maybe tell me what else I could check to find out where the problem is? It must me related to some internal magick. At least I have no other explanation.

def password_reset_instructions(user)

subject      "Password Reset Instructions"
from         "noreply@verbandspool.ch"
recipients   user.email

content_type "text/html"

sent_on      Time.now
raise user.perishable_token.inspect
body         :edit_password_reset_url => edit_password_reset_url(user.perishable_token)

Object based authentication solution that handles all of the non sense for you. It's as easy as ActiveRecord is with a database.
