failed_login_count does not work with generalize_credentials_error_messages

Reported by Pieter | May 15th, 2009 @ 06:45 AM

When generalize_credentials_error_messages = true, then failed_login_count won't be updated. I think it's because errors.on(password_field) will return nil instead of the wrong password error.

def increase_failed_login_count
   if errors.on(password_field) && attempted_record.respond_to?(:failed_login_count)
      attempted_record.failed_login_count ||= 0
      attempted_record.failed_login_count += 1
   end
end

Is this a bug or expected behaviour?

Best Regards,

Pieter
